Unsatisfied Or Blessed

Philippians 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 4:16: Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

God promises to meet all the needs of His children and He knows when to meet them. When I have been unsatisfied it is because there has been something wrong with my relationship with Him. Thankfully, my dissatisfaction has been temporary. I feel sorry for Christians whose dissatisfaction is chronic and long-term. They don*t seem to know how to be blessed. I don*t know if I could handle the things that cause their dissatisfaction, but I believe the cause of it is usually the same as mine: I am not right with God.

When there is something that I believe someone should do for me that they have not done, I wonder if there is someone else that I should have done something for that I didn*t. When I am lonely I know that there were lonely people in my life that I neglected. When someone takes advantage of me, it is most likely because I took advantage of someone else. When someone does not love me, it is most likely because there is someone that I have not loved properly. When I am unsatisfied, it is most likely because I have not satisfied someone else. When someone has not served me it is most likely because I have not served someone else.

When I believe that someone has failed to meet some need of mine it is often because I have confused a need with a desire. God never fails to meet my needs and He knows the difference between my needs and my desires. There is often a difference that I do not understand. There are many times that what I need is God*s reproof and correction for my failure to obey Him and to love others. I need His reproof and correction more than I need anything else from anyone else.

My Pastor McBay said recently that God does not suspend His laws when we become saved. I believe the law in Galatians 6:7 is one law that has not been revoked.

Galatians 6:7: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

When we become Christians who are right with God we should have very little concern for our own needs and great concern for the needs of others. We will remember His promise to meet our needs and His instructions to meet the needs of others.

Matthew 10:8b: . . . freely ye have received, freely give.

Acts 20:35: I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Giving is not just money or material things. It is whatever someone needs. It might just be a call, a visit or a letter. So, do you want to be unsatisfied or blessed? You can*t be both at the same time.
